Previewing and publishing your first project
Understand the live preview, then publish your project to the web.
Every project has a live preview while you build, and a published version once you ship it.
The live preview
The preview shows your project exactly as it will look. It updates automatically after each change. Use the toolbar above it to:
- Switch between desktop, tablet, and mobile widths.
- Refresh the preview.
- Open the current page in a new tab.
Publishing
When you are happy with your project, click Publish. Getyn builds a production version and puts it live at a Getyn subdomain, for example your-project.getyn.dev.
- Click Publish in the top-right of the editor.
- Wait for the build to finish — you will see a confirmation in chat.
- Your site is now live. Share the link, or connect a custom domain.
Tip
Publishing does not interrupt your editing. You can keep making changes and re-publish whenever you are ready — the button shows when you have unpublished changes.
Preview vs. published
- The preview is a working copy that only you (and collaborators) can see.
- The published version is what the public sees. It only changes when you publish again.
