Domain registration terms

Terms that apply when you connect a custom domain to a project, or register one through Getyn.

Last updated 19 July 2026

This is a working draft published for transparency. It has not yet completed legal review, so it should not be relied on as final contractual terms. Questions: legal@getyn.com.

These terms apply in addition to our general terms when you connect a domain you already own to a Getyn project, or register a new domain through us.

1Subdomains on getyn.dev

Every project can publish to a free address on getyn.dev. That subdomain is licensed to you for as long as your project is published and your account is in good standing — you do not own it.

We may reclaim a subdomain that impersonates a brand, is used to break our platform rules, or is held purely to prevent someone else using it. Some names are reserved and cannot be claimed at all.

2Connecting a domain you own

You are responsible for maintaining your registration and pointing DNS at us correctly. We will tell you which records to create.

You confirm that you have the right to use the domain and that it does not infringe anyone's trade mark. If a dispute arises over a domain you connect, it is between you and the complainant; we may suspend serving that domain while it is unresolved.

3Domains registered through Getyn

Where we offer registration, we act through an accredited registrar partner. Their registration agreement and ICANN's policies — including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy — apply to your registration alongside these terms.

  • Registrations are annual unless stated otherwise and do not auto-renew unless you enable it
  • Registration fees are non-refundable once the domain has been registered, because the fee is paid onward to the registry
  • You must keep your registrant contact details accurate; inaccurate details can result in suspension under ICANN rules
  • Transfers out are subject to the standard 60-day lock after registration or a change of registrant

4Certificates and availability

We provision and renew TLS certificates for domains you connect. Certificate issuance depends on your DNS being correct and on the certificate authority's availability, so we cannot guarantee an exact issuance time.

5Suspension

We may stop serving a domain that is being used to break our platform rules, that is subject to a valid legal order, or where the account behind it is suspended for non-payment or abuse.
